Gutta Beautiful

Gutta Beautiful was produced at the former Warehouse Theater in Washington, DC in July 2005. Following that workshop production, it was produced for DC’s first Fringe Festival at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre. The play was directed by Eric Ruffin.

This was our first experience of developing new work with Howard University Theatre Arts artistic director Eric Ruffin. We also hired recent Howard University graduates as actors in the development and production of the play alongside a team of professional artists from the vibrant DC arts community to create a dynamic show that was later produced by Woodie King Jr’s New Federal Theatre in New York City and by Griot Productions in Woodbrook, Trinidad.
